Preventive Maintenance

We take care for your vehicle

At Tire House Mokena, we always try to convey the importance of Preventive Maintenance service. Preventive Maintenance (PM) services are essential to maximizing your trucks engine life. By keeping your truck up to date with PM, you can avoid engine failures before they happen. When you get your truck regularly serviced, you save money and precious time.

Schedule a custom Preventive Maintenance service with The Truck Shop in Modena IL, and you can identify potential engine failure problems and truck repair needs before it’s too late. Once a breakdown occurs, the damage has been done and will yield costs much higher than if PM was performed in the first place. We are here to help you prevent unnecessary downtime with your heavy-duty or diesel truck.

Sometimes, a minor adjustment or the replacement of a single component can keep a little problem from turning into a large repair. When you regularly schedule maintenance for your truck, you help predict future mechanical issues like: worn parts, leaks, loose seals, and other issues that come with heavy usage.

Your truck’s fuel system is constantly working to deliver enough energy to keep your engine running. A clean and constant supply of fuel is necessary if you want to ensure your truck performs safely, properly and efficiently.

Your heavy duty truck may require maintenance if it has any of the following symptoms.
    • Trouble starting – This could be due to a clogged fuel filter
    • Poor acceleration – This could be a result of a faulty fuel pump that isn’t delivering enough fuel
    • High-speed sputtering – This could also be the result of a faulty fuel pump
    • Engine stalls – Your truck may have a failing fuel pump or a blockage in the fuel line

Keeping your heavy-duty truck well maintained is important, and it does not stop at just the engine. The whole exhaust system needs to be properly sustained as well. Take your truck to The Truck Shop and you’ll get a truck that runs at peak performance with a clean and functioning exhaust system.

Does your truck shake at times, feel unsteady or experience tightness/stiffness while steering? Have you been experiencing any excessive swaying or bouncing over bumps with intermittent control while driving and braking? Each of these symptoms is a sign that your truck is due for a steering and suspension repair or maintenance.

Your suspension system components consist of leaf springs, coil springs, shocks, torsion bars, ball joints, hub assemblies and struts – these individual pieces work hard to decrease shock and absorb bounces. These components are constantly working and should be properly inspected and repaired. We offer a fast replacement of ball joints, shocks, struts, sway bars, and hub assemblies.

Tire House Mokena is always up to date and understands that there are new laws and regulations affecting the allowable idle time of big trucks. As a result, keeping the truck’s cab climate-controlled has become increasingly difficult. By not allowing truck drivers to idle their engines, drivers will perspire heavily in the summers and become frigid cold in the winters.

Regardless of the weather conditions, the wheels must keep moving in this industry. We work tirelessly to reduce costly down time and help cut operating costs for the hard-working truck driver.

Whether its mining, shipping or construction equipment, operational comfort and functionality is our main priority We service and maintain truck HVAC systems to comply with the no idle rules and to help offset the rising costs of diesel fuel.

Every heavy-duty work truck must comply with its states strict Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. At the Truck Shop, we offer complete DOT inspection services so your truck is guaranteed to pass.

The North American Standard was developed by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance in cooperation with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Most roadside inspections by the states are conducted under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) – a grant program administered by the FMCSA. There are six levels of inspection, this includes a vehicle component, a driver component, or both.

A roadside inspection occurs when an MCSAP inspector conducts an examination on individual commercial vehicles and drivers to determine if they follow the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and/or Hazardous Material Regulations (HMRs.) Trucks found in violation of standards during an inspection could receive an Out of Service (OOS) order.

Go to Tire House Mokena to make sure your truck is always prepared for the latest inspection.

The six primary levels of DOT inspections are:

Level 1 North American Standard Inspection
Level 2 Walk-Around Driver and Vehicle Inspection
Level 3 Driver-Only Inspection
Level 4 Special Inspection
Level 5 Vehicle-Only Inspection
Level 6 Enhanced NAS Inspection for Radioactive Shipments
